First Trip to the Doctor

Olivia got to meet her pediatrician today! The doctor says she looks great and her development is wonderful for her age. She weighs 16 pounds, 7 ounces, and is 28" long. We were then sent to the lab in the hospital (St. Lukes) for routine international adoption bloodwork, which was not so fun. After sticking her in both arms, they decided that her veins were too tiny for them to find, and so they sent us to the pediatric floor. There they stuck her in the hand, then in the arm again, and were finally able to draw the 6-7 vials of blood they needed! Thank goodness that's over! We are continuing to work on the sleep issue. She is doing wonderful with naps during the day, but when we put her to sleep at night she wakes up after an hour or two, then is wide awake until midnight or so and then sleeps thru the rest of the night. She is doing wonderful in her crib, which has been great. She is to the point where we can just lay her down and pat her a few minutes and she usually falls asleep easily without crying. Her bedtime in Korea was 11 pm, so we are slowly trying to change that. Overall she has done wonderful for being here less than a week!
